Newton Colonial Addition

Bright kitchen and dining area with large windows, wooden floor, white cabinetry, and a wooden dining table with six chairs.

The Challenge

This classic Newton Colonial had charm, but a growing family needed more space and light. The layout felt closed off, storage was an issue, the kitchen was tight, and there was no mudroom. The homeowners' taste had evolved from traditional to transitional, but the earlier-designed living room still worked beautifully.

The Solution

Process

We designed a thoughtful 600-square-foot addition — guest suite, mudroom, great room, cook's kitchen with marble counters, and reimagined primary suite. We opened up the floor plan, brightened the palette, and added custom furnishings. Tons of storage. Tons of seating. A kitchen that's a dream to cook in.

Results

The result is warm, welcoming, and perfectly balanced — a home that now feels timeless, comfortable, and "just right" for this family's life.
