I can honestly say this has never happened before.
I got a call from the paint contractor saying: “Abbey did you want a dark brown in the master bathroom?” Apparently, the painters had applied one coat. That’s when the head of the crew entered the room. He had seen the color we had chosen and realized something was wrong and told the painters to stop.
“Oh my God,” I thought. Did I make a mistake. Did the paint company mix the wrong color?
I was in New York when this happened and did not have access to my documentation. I recalled the color and number. I have learned long ago NOT to trust memory on these matters. Luckily they realized this before 2 coats went up.
Well I was right. When I returned from New York City, I looked it up. I actually remembered correctly. But I wrote the wrong number down. I cannot believe I wrote it down wrong.
A million apologies, an offer to pay for the paint and the labor to re-prime and paint ,and now we are good to go. The person who makes the mistake should eat the cost. That’s only fair.
Here’s the so-called brown and Volmar the head of the painting crew.
It was shocking to see as it was soooo different from what we wanted. It’s being repainted with the correct pale tan.
Truthfully it looked good– dramatic, but just not the look we were after. We’re after calm and sophisticated.
