It has been a rough couple of weeks. Everyone is nervous. Many of my designer friends are in business for themselves. With this situation economically, no one seems to know how to predict. The high end continues to do well, overall. Certainly many of my friends have claimed business is down. Some are doing great. I am doing fine, but I too worry about the future.
So what's a small business owner to do? Tonight I talked to a friend and she mentioned focusing on customer service. Really taking care of your clients. Others have talked about decreasing expenses and watching mistakes. I have been nervous about making errors so I go over and over the details of an order to make sure I am getting it right. A bit neurotic? For sure. Or maybe I've developed an industry specific obsessive compulsive disorder? (with no disrespect for those who suffer from this for real)
It's probably a good time to take a look at how to run a better business. (But hey, when is it not a good time?)
