A lot of my clients ask about accessorizing.
My advice?
- Keep it simple.
- Place items in odd numbers.
- Mix your materials.
- You cannot go wrong with natural materials. A little empty space goes a long way. (In other words, don't fill up all the space.)
One one side there are some snake skin boxes in a color that echos the pillows and 2 different ceramic vases.
On the other side, I changed the rhythm a bit. You'll see an orchid, rattan coasters and basket. The metal picture frame from Target has an interesting texture. I stacked books and mags on the middle shelf.
P.S. This is my living room. I added accessories when I staged for the Boston Globe article on sofas called "Seven Steps to Sofa Heaven."
